Lucas S. Michels is an intellectual property (IP) and business law attorney at Spiro Harrison in Seattle, Washington. His practice focuses on representing businesses and individuals with their domestic and international IP and business legal needs. Prior to his legal career, Lucas worked with businesses and industry organizations on foreign regulatory compliance and lobbying initiatives, helping them to overcome legislative, regulatory and logistical obstacles to establish favorable trade conditions, ensure foreign regulatory compliance and maximize global market opportunities.
Since beginning his legal practice, Lucas has assisted multiple businesses with their cross-border IP and business legal needs. He has also published on foreign and cross-border IP legal developments. Lucas is currently admitted to practice in the State of Washington, and is expecting admission to practice in the State of Oregon in 2018.
Lucas is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the Gonzaga Journal of International Law and recipient of the 2012 CALI Excellence For The Future Award in International and Comparative IP. He also holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Brussels School of International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Kansas.
While not working, Lucas likes to spend time with family and friends, go to concerts and arts exhibitions, run along Seattle’s multiple trails and watch his beloved Kansas Jayhawks play basketball.
